According to the regional tournament organizing committee, Australia will be sending a team in the Juniors division, while Chinese Taipei will be competing in the Junior and Big League classes.

The CNMI, Guam, Indonesia, and the Philippines are the only countries that confirmed fielding teams in all three divisions.

Tournament packets were also sent out to all Little League district administrators in the region.

The committee said they want to know at an earlier time how many teams are joining in order to finish the games schedule and how many hotel rooms are they going to reserve.

It will take two weeks to one month before they would know the final list of competing countries in each division. An umpire and the district administrator of each team are part of the delegation.

The regional tournament committee is estimating that they would reserve at least 85 hotel rooms, five per team, if all 17 squads that are spread out in the three divisions—which offers one spot each to the Little League World Series—decided to arrive.

The tournament committee is expecting that teams would start arriving on June 25 and leave on July 6. Accommodation is also ready for any delegation that would come to Saipan at an earlier date.

The regional tournament committee would again meet on April 1 at 10am at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room to decide in adopting the bylaws and at the same time update the committee assignments.

The local legislature has also appropriated $50,000 for Saipan’s hosting of the regional tournament.
