Brilliant Star students donate to Karidat food bank

Around Thanksgiving last year, the Brilliant Star School students organized a food drive for Karidat.

“Thanksgiving traditionally marks a season of giving and it is in that spirit that they wanted to take the opportunity to show compassion for others and make giving and kindness part of who they are, not just a thing they do,” said Brilliant Star School principal Richard Sikkel.

The students chose to do chores around the house and neighborhoods for a nominal compensation and collected a total of $90. The school matched the funds the students collected and bought $180 worth of food items to be donated to the food bank of Karidat.

“Last Wednesday we took some of our students to drop of the food items to Karidat,” said Sikkel.
