Several more organizations have signed on to partner with the Northern Marianas College’s Nursing Club to host the upcoming Health Fair.

They include FHP Health Care, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Ace Hardware, Uncle Ben’s Studio, Subway, Marianas Pacific Distribution Inc., Let’s Move Marianas, Hardt Eye Clinic, Gold’s Gym, Coral Ocean Point, Coca Cola, College Access Grant Program, Kanoa Resort, Bestseller, AHEC, American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Club, and Health Craze.

All community members are invited to the Health Fair, which is on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 8am to 1pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center. The aim of the health fair is to increase awareness about healthy lifestyle habits and practices.

Health fair activities will run from 8am until 1pm but will also feature a 5K Walk starting at 7am. The first 20 participants who finish the 5K will also receive T-shirt prizes. Entrance to the 5K Walk is free for all community members.

The health fair is also supported with the assistance of Let’s Move Marianas Campaign, the College Access Challenge Grant, Area Health Education Center, the Associated Student of the Northern Marianas College, and the Office of the Dean of Student Services.

In addition to the exhibits, there will be games and information booths, as well as free immunizations, screenings for blood pressure, height and weight, and blood glucose. There will also be various presentations and fitness classes from organizations like the Let’s Move Marianas and Uncle Ben’s Music and Dance Studio. American Red Cross will be demonstrating CPR techniques.

“Our goal for this health fair is to increase awareness and the importance of living a healthier lifestyle by eating the right types of food and becoming more physically active,” said NMC Nursing Club president Maria Atrero. “This is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about the different resources available in the CNMI.”
