The upcoming 2012 Oceania Baseball Championship tournament dates have been confirmed.

The competition will be held at Guam’s Paseo Stadium from Jan. 26 to Feb. 4, 2012.

Similar to the recent Pacific Games format, the CNMI will be competing against teams from Australia, New Zealand, Palau, Guam, and American Samoa in a single round-robin with page system final.

Players that turn 19 during the 2012 calendar year are not eligible to compete.

The roster is expected to be determined some time in early or mid November so the team can have adequate time to practice as a group.

To qualify for selection, a player has to be actively playing in the ongoing Summer/Youth Baseball League or participate in youth baseball camps, which will be conducted, by qualified Saipan Major League Baseball Association coaches.

Wood or composite bats will be used during the tournament and players in this league are urged to make the necessary adjustments and adapt to the use of these bats.
