Starting at 6am, IT&E employees met up at the Quartermaster Tank on Beach Road, handing each other gloves, trash bags, rakes, a blower machine, and other tools used to pick up trash and beautify the sidewalks.
Even the employees’ children appeared excited as they prepared to assist with the cleanup. Most employees who bring their children to the event view it as quality time they are able to spend together while doing something beneficial for the community.
The grounds covered stretched from Oleai Beach Bar & Grill to the 13 Fishermen’s Pavilion.
After the cleanup, the employees met back at their starting point for light refreshments and rehydration.
Rose A. Soledad, IT&E general manager, continues to emphasize the importance of giving back to the community and the people who are instrumental in the success of IT&E. Her persistence to continue company-sponsored events like this is essential to maintaining camaraderie with the community.
This has been an IT&E tradition since 2011. (IT&E)
