In less than 30 minutes after learning about a stolen vehicle, police officers recovered the car and arrested the suspect in San Vicente on Friday afternoon.

Thomas Daniel Riner, 31, was arrested for theft of vehicle.

The green 1997 Honda Civic with license plate ACM-385 was impounded until it can be recovered by its owner, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Travis Hurst on Friday. He did not name the victim.

Hurst said DPS Dispatch was notified on Friday at 2:16pm about a theft of vehicle incident in Kagman.

A police sergeant responded to the scene to investigate and immediately relayed the information to other officers.

Hurst said two police officers spotted the stolen car that same day and stopped it on Isa Drive in San Vicente at 2:27pm.

Hurst said the driver, Riner, was arrested and brought to the Department of Corrections for booking.

No information was provided on how the car was stolen.

In September 2012, police arrested Riner for his alleged involvement in a string of burglaries in Kagman.
