UOG Charter Day on March 10
The University of Guam will celebrate its 47th Charter Day on Tuesday, March 10, 2014, at the UOG campus. Opening ceremonies begin at 9am and activities run throughout the day until 5pm. The public is invited to attend.
Each year, Charter Day is the largest public event at the university with nearly 5,000 people visiting the campus. This year, Charter Day features a multitude of activities and events including campus tours, presentations from the Marine Lab and WERI, the Annual College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Research Conference, the CHamoru Language Competition at the Calvo Field House, agricultural displays, ROTC tactical demonstrations, Chemistry Titration High School Competition, and an Isla Center for the Arts exhibit on Japanese architecture. The Center Courtyard at UOG will be have cultural performances, live music, food, games, and activities for the whole family.
Charter Day will also feature the finals of the President’s Cup Competition where students, alumni, and UOG employees have been competing 10 different events including basketball, volleyball, badminton, ping-pong, dodgeball, and more.
