Braves in shutout win over Fielders
A.J. Evangelista and J.J. Lifoifoi shut down the Fielders to help the NSA Braves complete an 11-0 win in Tuesday night’s Big League game in the Saipan Little League at the Francisco M. “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

The Fielders, despite the loss, still had some bright moments in the game when they made two double plays—in the first and fourth innings. But those defensive gems failed to dampen the Braves’ spirits.
Evangelista tossed four scoreless innings, holding the Fielders to three hits and forcing their opponents to hit fly balls, grounders, and line drives that kept the defense busy. In all, the Braves defense stranded eight Fielders base runners the entire match.
Evangelista also struck out two and walked three batters before being relieved by Lifoifoi in the top of the fifth.
Lifoifoi gave up a lead off single to Keola Camacho, who reached third on a passed ball, before retiring Max Castro and Jesse Brel for a quick two outs. He walked Zack Yamagishi to put runners at the corners but struck out Jared Ayuyu to end the game.
Fielders shortstop Jesse Brel doubled in the first, while Verlance Secharmidal and Kenji Yamagata hit consecutive singels against Evangelista.
Evangelista also went 3-for-3, all singles, with two runs while Ian Norita slapped a two-RBI triple in the Braves’ eight-run second inning that drove in Ray Saralu, who singled, and Lifoifoi, who walked.
Norita later scored on a Devin Noisom RBI triple, who was brought in by an Angel Palacios single.
The Braves scored those eight runs with two outs after Khobby Kaipat and M.J. Sakisat were tagged out on consecutive putout plays by catcher Jose Lizama and Secharmidal, who both made the relay throw to first baseman Cedric Ada.
The Braves peppered the Fielders’ bullpen—composed of starter Cody Kaipat, reliever Camacho, and closer Jose Lizama—with 13 hits.
Kaipat struck out one batter, Franklin Lizama, and walked two, Norita and Frank Lieto.
