Fish and Wildlife conservation officer arrested

Police arrested on Monday Division of Fish and Wildlife conservation officer Marvin Rodney Pangelinan, who allegedly poked a finger on the neck of a female cashier for no apparent reason, then threw six unopened beer cans at her for confronting him at Payless Supermarket in Chalan Kanoa.
Pangelinan, 43, was served with an arrest warrant in Lower Base for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set yesterday at $25,000 cash. Preliminary hearing is on March 12.
Assistant public defender Matthew Meyer was appointed to serve as counsel for Pangelinan. Assistant attorney general Emily Cohen appeared for the government.
Police detective Dee Liza S. Udui stated in her report that a police officer was dispatched to Payless Supermarket last Feb. 22 due to a disturbance reported at 9:16am.
The victim told the officer that a male customer walked behind her counter and pinched her neck for no reason.
When the customer later went up to the counter with six cans of beer, the cashier confronted him that he has no right to pinch her neck or touch her.
The suspect, later identified as Pangelinan, said some profanities at her and threw the six cans of beer toward the counter, hitting her stomach and feet. Still allegedly uttering profanities, Pangelinan walked out of the store and got into a pickup truck with license plate ACM-234.
When the officer reviewed the surveillance camera, he identified the customer as Pangelinan, an employee of the Division of Fish and Wildlife.
Udui said the victim stated that she was assisting a customer when Pangelinan passed her counter and poked his finger on the left side of her neck. The cashier said she didn’t know who Pangelinan was.
The cashier said when she later confronted Pangelinan, he badmouthed her and stated he does not care. He then allegedly threw the six cans of beer toward her.
“F___k you, who you think you are? Call anybody, call your boyfriend. I don’t give a damn!” Pangelinan was allegedly quoted as saying.
When police presented a photo lineup, the cashier identified Pangelinan.
