All 12 golfers who participated in the first five rounds moved on to the next round. Scores made in the five games played in the first round where not carried over and each tryout day plays 18 holes.

Final scores of last Saturday’s 18-hole event were not available at press time, but Hardwicke shot the lowest score followed by Eddie Peter, Harry Nakamura, and Franco Santos.

J.J. Atalig, the leader in the first set of five rounds, and Xerxes Camacho need to play make-up rounds in order to catch up with the frontrunners for them to keep their hopes of clinching one of the four spots on the CNMI men’s team.

Organizers of the golf tryouts would like to thank Jeff Taylor, Richard Pierce, Atty. Steve Nutting, and Mark Blackburn for coming out to play and show their support to the team that’s being formed for this year’s Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

The CNMI Junior Golf Association, through its president Attorney General Edward Manibusan, also donated $1,000 to the men’s team’s fund.

The next tryout day is on Saturday, March 7, also at COP with registration starting at 10am and tee time at 11am. The next three will be on March 14, 21, and 28 with the venue to be announced at a latter date.
