Fiesta, Mobil rout business caging foes
Title contenders Fiesta Resort and Spa and Mobil/JP World completed lopsided wins over separate opponents in the Inter-Commercial Business Basketball League 2015 last Thursday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Fiesta banked on the consistent scoring of its Big 3—Matt Duenas, Lerio Pagarao, and Elmer Esdrelon—in cruising to an 89-72 win over the Public School System, while Mobil used a balanced scoring in posting an easy 99-49 decision against IT&E.

Duenas and Esdrelon combined for 11 of Fiesta’s 21 points in the final period as they finally pull away from a close contest.
Duenas finished with game highs of 31 points and 14 rebounds, while Esdrelon added 17 markers, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals. Lerio Pagarao also chipped in big numbers with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Preston Basa led PSS with 23 points, Maverick Itibus had 15, while Melvin Manibusan tallied 12 markers and 8 rebounds.
In the second game, Mike Arciaga scattered 16 points to lead six other players that turned in 8 points or more.
Wenz Espinosa and Ignacio Borja scored 12 and 10 points each, while Mike Espinosa and Prince Factor combined for 18 markers to back up Arciaga. J.P. Jose and Manolo Manalo contributed 8 points apiece.
Mobil led from all departments: 58-24 in rebounds, 17-3 in assists, 15-12 in steals, and 4-1 in blocks.
Jason Palacios was the lone IT&E player to finish in double figures with 22 points.
On Feb. 24, Tuesday, Joeten defeated Saipan Ice, 82-59.
