No one was reported injured or sought medical assistance related to the fire, according to Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Jocelyn Alvarez yesterday.

Alvarez said the cause of fire remains unknown at this time.

The department received a call about a wildfire on Capital Hill on Tuesday at 1:30pm, prompting firefighters to respond to the area.

Alvarez said a primary survey of the fire showed heavy smoke and active flames in the grassy area between Talafofo and Wireless Ridge.

She said initial assessment indicated no access routes to the fire and no immediate threat to life and property.

Firefighters monitored the directional travel of the smoke and fire and once they gained access, fire personnel were able to suppress the blaze.

Alvarez said the fire was cleared at 11:28pm on Tuesday. Burned were mostly vegetation and natural materials.

Last Feb. 1, a large bush fire swept through some 10 to 15 acres of vegetation on a hill in Kannat Tabla, forcing at least five families to evacuate their homes.
