Leading the list of awardees was Wild Bill’s, which ruled the eight-team men’s league. Wild Bill’s was handed the championship trophy after topping the two-round robin competition with an impressive 13-1-0 win-loss-draw record.

Wild Bill’s absorbed its lone loss in the inaugural league at the hands of eventual fourth placer Korean Futsal Team, 6-8, last Aug. 1. The champion team went on to sweep the second round of the league after bowing to Korean Futsal in the first round.

The inaugural men’s league champion squad is composed of goalie Greg Borja, Lar Wongpanya, Jeeraphong Thoensaket, Mai Tree, Narongchai Khamtha, Adul Detdon, Jian Dong He, Jiayuan Guo, Perry Po, Suriya Simuana, Boonsong Sekean, Jonathan Mafnas, Greg Elliot, Robert Jordan, and Jack Tanapon.

Wild Bill’s main striker, Thoensaket, was also honored in the awards ceremony for making the most goals in the league with 65.

Irish Pagarao took the Golden Boot plum in the women’s division for drilling 34 goals and her team, Shirley’s A, was awarded the women’s championship trophy.

Shirley’s A finished the two-round robin competition with an 11-3-0 card and 33 points, just one point ahead of IT&E Awesome (10-2-2).

Two more teams were recognized in the awards ceremony with Mellow Yellow winning the Fair Play plum in the women’s division and IT&E prevailing in the men’s category.

The Saipan Soccer School is a sport facility located at the TSL Sports Complex. It opened in June this year and since then has held several clinics for youths. The school will also continue to hold competitions in the coming years.
