Berger was the overall top finisher in the 10K event, completing the race from the American Memorial Park to the road across Hakubotan in Beach Road and back in 42:21. Longuski, on the other hand, ruled the 5K run from AMP to the 13 Fishermer’s pavilion and back in 20:05.

Joining Longuski in the Top 3 in the shorter race last weekend were Agape Christian School’s Alan Zhao (22:43) and Saipan Southern High School’s Seiya Eda (22:50).

Saipan’s middle distance runner Noriko Jim was the fourth overall finisher in the 5K race, but first in the women’s division after clocking in at 23:48.

Jim and Longuski received prizes from organizers McDonald’s and Rotary Club of Saipan during the brief awards ceremony hosted by T Galleria’s Ben Babauta at the Micro Beach pavilion. McDonald’s Marcia Ayuyu and other Rotary Club of Saipan officials were also present to award prizes to winners.

The top finishers in each age group were recognized, too at the awards ceremony.

Zhao took the top honors in the boys U19, while Coume Kaga (25:03) earned the same award in the girls division.

In the 20 to 29 age group, the top finishers were Will Schroeder and Pipit Ball, while Evangeline Tecson and Longuski ruled the women’s 30 to 39. In the 40 to 49 division, Gary Bandoja and Jim won the men’s category, while Alejo Sablan and Lyn Tenorio prevailed in the 50-and-over age group.

In the 10K division, Agape’s Caleb Wang and Ronald Villafria joined Berger in the overall Top 3 rankings.

Wang also earned the top honors in the boys U19, while Conatsu Kaga triumphed in the girls division. Other top finishers in their respective age groups were 20 to 29’s Steven Johnson; 30 to 39’s Taro Kibo and Jennifer Cui, and 50-and-over’s Chang Wang Jang.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the fun run will go to the Rotary’s project on developing a family park in Kagman.
