NMIS students grab 2 gold in Thespians regionals

2 students will head for Nebraska for the national competition

Northern Marianas International School students once again excelled in the recently concluded Thespians regional competition held on Feb. 7-8, 2015.

Two students won gold medals in this school year’s competition. In Thespians, the top award winners will have the opportunity to compete at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska. Myka Kassandra R. Villegas and Deirdre Mae P. Rosete won gold medals in Duet Acting. They will join the CNMI team to represent the islands at the prestigious event.

Villegas also won last year’s JITS Competition for duet acting with Kristine Fajardo.

NMIS coach and coordinator Katherine Barja said, “We did it again! Our hard work paid off. I would like to thank the parents, NMIS staff, and judges for all the support.”

DUET ACTING
1st Place: Myka Kassandra R. Villegas and Deirdre Mae P. Rosete
4th Place: Robi Jan Magat and Wang Zi Han
5th Place: Maverick Deniel Irang and Dondi Ferrer

MONOLOGUE
2nd Place: Deirdre Mae Rosete
4th Place: Wang Zi Han
5th Place: Christian Aldan
