Another Abyss-supported team jumped on top of the Saipan Billiards Association-Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League’s Winter/Spring 2015 season held in various bars on Saipan last week.

The Abyss Rack ‘N Roll won nine of their last 10 match ups against the Jokers Wonderpool Aces to complete an 11-4 rout.

Warlee Ellama and Roy Tereyama, with the Rack ‘N Roll trailing 3-2 after the first set of singles matches, started the rout when they defeated Ruben Esmundo and Rolly Bermiso in the first partners event.

Tereyama, in the second set of singles matches, was beaten by Bermiso to become the lone casualty in the Rack ‘N Roll’s winning run.

The Rack ‘N Roll has compiled 20 wins out of the 30 games they played with the Jokers Homeboyz not too far behind with an 18-12 record. Wild Bill’s and the Barcode Hobbies Deadshot are also breathing down their necks with identical 17-13 slates.

The Abyss Titans, the early leader, suffered a 9-6 decision against the Homeboyz to fifth place with an even 15-15 card.

Smoke Pub Magic 8 also scored a 9-6 win over the Route 33 Alamo Car Rental, while Wild Bill’s eked out an 8-7 triumph against Jonny’s Team SCS. The Deadshot cruised to a 12-3 victory over sister team Breakers in other Thursday matches.

In the Tuesday League, the Jokers IT&E Voyagers are slowly establishing some distance with the five other teams after posting a 10-5 win over sister team Str8 Shooters.

The Voyagers, last season’s regular and Budweiser Cup champions, already compiled a 21-9 slate followed by the Abyss Crazy 8 and Smoke Pub Armatech Hustlers’ similar 15-15 marks.

The Crazy 8 edged the Hustlers, 9-6, and the Abyss Homeboyz 2 escaped with an 8-7 decision over the Smoke Pub Destroyers with George Lizardo beating Jeff Garcia to deliver the crucial win for their team.

Action continues tomorrow in the third week of the Tuesday League with the Str8 Shooters taking on the Hustlers, while the Destroyers face the Voyagers and the Crazy 8 clash with the Homeboyz in various bars on Saipan.

On Thursday, Feb. 19, the Breakers collide with the Wonderpool Aces, the Hobbies Deadshot meet the Homeboyz, Rack ‘N Roll tackle Team SCS, the Titans challenge Alamo Car Rental with Wild Bill’s taking a bye.
