MVA board yet to act on Tenorio’s courtesy resignation
The board of directors of the Marianas Visitors Authority has yet to decide on the courtesy resignation of MVA managing director Perry Tenorio.
According to MVA board chair Marian Aldan-Pierce, Tenorio “continues to remain in his current capacity as the managing director of MVA.”
“Although the MVA board of directors received his courtesy resignation on Jan. 9, 2015, no official action has yet been taken,” Aldan-Pierce said.
Tenorio confirmed that he submitted his courtesy resignation last month.
“As the MVA board of directors is the hiring authority for the MVA managing director position, I submitted by courtesy resignation to the MVA board chair on Jan. 9, 2015, of which a copy was furnished to the administration,” Tenorio, in an email to the Saipan Tribune, said.
The office of Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres earlier clarified that the post of MVA managing director is a board position that serves at the board’s pleasure. Thus it will be up to the board to decide whether Tenorio keeps his post or not.
The current administration is currently in the process of accepting courtesy resignations of present Cabinet positions, as well as appointing new Cabinet members.
