Frank Borja is named Tinian delegation chair
Sen. Francisco Borja (Ind-Tinian) was unanimously elected as Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation chairman during an organizational meeting Friday in his office at the Jesus P. Mafnas Memorial Building on Capital Hill.

“I thank all members for their support and confidence in me to be the chairman of this delegation. I also welcome our two new delegation members, Edwin Aldan and Jude Hofschneider. I know that you’re not new to being legislators.”
Borja enjoined all delegation members to cooperate with each other in advancing the interests of the Second Senatorial District.
“Let’s work together and let’s work hard. We’re faced with a lot of obstacles but with us working together, we’ll have a faster and easier time to accomplish our roles for our people,” he said.
The delegation chair also told Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas that the local delegation is ready to work with him.
Aside from Borja, also elected to the delegation leadership were Cruz as vice chair, Hofschneider as floor leader, and Aldan as legislative secretary.
San Nicolas congratulated all the new officers of the delegation and vowed to work with them for the betterment of the people of Tinian.
The mayor confirmed that he had a brief meeting with Joint Region Marianas commander Rear Admiral Bette Bolivar when she visited the island recently.
“It was very short briefing on what has come until now and what their discussion were with the governor [Eloy S. Inos]. I told them as the mayor of Tinian I look forward to working with them. I look forward to engaging in some very serious discussions with representatives of the military. This is an ongoing process and I understand that there’s an ad-hoc meeting coming up and a couple more meetings coming up and I look forward to that,” he said.
San Nicolas also introduced to Bolivar two of his advisers—Eric San Nicolas and Phillip Mendiola-Long. Both will be assisting him with regards to military affairs.
“We didn’t get too much on specifics. It’s my understanding that they’re willing to sit down with us and help our community as we move forward. It was basically a meet-and-greet introduction,” he said.
