PA Memo on military relocation open for comments until Jan. 23

PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM—Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific reminded the public Friday that the comment period deadline for the Programmatic Agreement Memo for Project J-001B: Finegayan Utilities and Site Improvements Phase 1 (PA Memo #2) is Jan. 23, 2015, Chamorro Standard Time. Comments may be submitted to criwebcomment@navy.mil.

PA Memos provide an opportunity for interested members of the public to participate in the Section 106 consultation process required under the National Historic Preservation Act. More specifically, PA Memo #2 presents summarizes the project description and locale, the historic properties that will be adversely affected and the DOD’s plan for resolving adverse effect.

J-001B proposes the first phase of required utilities and site improvements at Naval Base Guam Telecommunications Site, should this area be the selected alternative for construction of a cantonment area to support the Guam and Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands Military Relocation. This project proposes to conduct construction and associated efforts, to include design work, for J-001B Finegayan Utilities and Site Improvements Phase 1 and future improvements and vertical construction projects within the bounds of Finegayan Utilities and Site Improvements Phase 1 at NBGTS.
