Youth orchestra event at AMP tomorrow

The Yeosu Gifted Youth Orchestra will perform with the Saipan Southern High School’s Manta Ray Band at the American Memorial Park at 5pm tomorrow afternoon.

Yeosu orchestra conductors are Du-Sup Park and S Du-Sup Park and Sung Wan Kang. The Yeosu orchestra leader is Kyung Sup Shim. William Dewitt is conductor for Manta Ray Band.

The Korean Association of Saipan coordinates the event.

According to association director Youn Suk Chang, the public is welcome to join for free, with donations welcomed as well.

Funds raised will go to the Public School System and the Manta Ray Band’s trip to Los Angeles.

The Yeosu group will attend some classes at PSS high schools and will also visit the Department of Public Safety during their stay.

The two musical groups will execute a memorandum of understanding to establish a sisterhood relationship, according to the association.

PSS, Saipan Times, Asiana Airlines and JP Entertainment are sponsors of the event.
