Inos-Torres administration is primed to form new Cabinet

With less than a week before the inauguration of governor-elect Eloy S. Inos and lieutenant governor-elect Ralph DLG Torres, the slate is clean for the new administration to choose a new Cabinet.

Inos’ acting public information officer, Ivan Blanco, said all Cabinet members are supposed to have submitted their courtesy resignations to allow the Inos and Torres a free hand to pick new or retain current department secretaries and heads of other government agencies.

“I can only assume all the Cabinet members submitted their courtesy resignation letters to the governor as is customary during a transition period,” he said in an email to Saipan Tribune.

The makeup of the new Cabinet will be based on the transition report that will be submitted by Committee on Transition chair Gregorio M. Camacho.

The current Cabinet is composed of Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson, Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Laura Ogumoro, Labor Secretary, Edith DeLeon Guerrero, Land and Natural Resources Secretary Arnold I. Palacios, Public Works Secretary Martin Sablan, Public Lands Secretary Pete A. Tenorio, Public Safety Commissioner James Deleon Guerrero, Corrections Commissioner Ramon Mafnas, Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Perry Tenorio, Chief Public Defender Doug Hartig, special assistant for Management and Budget Virginia Villagomez, special assistant for Homeland Security and Emergency Management Marvin Seman, Bureu of Environmental and Coastal Quality administrator Frank Rabaulimanm, special assistant for administration Esther Fleming, Carolinian Affairs Office director Jose Limes, Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority special assistant Thomas J. Camacho, Women’s Affairs Office special assistant Remy Buniag, Commerce acting secretary Mark Rabauliman, and acting press secretary Ivan Blanco.

Inos requested his Cabinet to submit courtesy resignations immediately after he and Torres won the runoff election in December.

Helping Committee on Transition chair Camacho complete the transition report is a Transition Executive Committee made up of James Ada as vice chairman and members Rufin S. Inos, Edward C. Deleon Guerrero, Esther S. Fleming, Mathilda A. Rosario, representative-elect Angel A. Demapan, and Torres brothers Vince, Victorino, and Joaquin.
