NMIS finishes second place in Christmas tree decorating contest

Christmas ornaments were made from used plastic spoons, forks, food containers, plastic, and empty plastic bottles. The main attraction of the tree is the Frozen character “Olaf” made from used plastic bottles.
Although a neophyte, NMIS also won third place in the Middle School Caroling Competition and went home with $500. They made a tambourine out of used caps from bottled drinks and joyfully sung Joy to the World and Feliz Navidad. Middle school students were accompanied and conducted by their mentor and musical director Katherine Barja.
NMIS also joined in the Float Competition in the elementary and middle school divisions. They also showcased their unique recycled costumes in the Fashion Show. The students who joined were Vladimir Radge Palma, Edgardo Severin Palma, Angel Lou Buensalido, and Euanne Kyra Claveria.
The overall coordinators of this event were Marge Sugaste, Ramy Salcedo, and Levi Sobremisana.
Jener Pineda, vice principal of NMIS, said that the success of their participation was realized through the unconditional love and support of the whole NMIS community: students, teachers, staff, administration, and of course the parents. (NMIS)
