The Marianas Visitors Authority is preparing to welcome visitors from two ships that will be arriving in Saipan over the holidays.

The MS Asuka II will arrive Dec. 31, 2014, at 8am for a one-day visit. The ship is expected to bring 875 visitors to the island, including 488 crewmembers.

On Jan. 1, 2015, the Nippon Maru will arrive at 8am, also for a one-day visit. The ship has 450 aboard, including 200 crewmembers.

“We’re looking forward to the arrival of these two passenger vessels on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day,” said MVA Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. “As a community, let’s do our best to make them feel welcomed and happy for choosing to spend the holidays with us.”

As tradition with visiting large passenger vessels and military vessels, the MVA will greet the visiting ships with a local dance troupe during docking. The passengers will also take an island tour while in Saipan. (MVA)
