The Public School System has ceased its investigation of Saipan Southern High School vice principal Eric San Nicolas for having inappropriate relationships with students during his time as teacher and principal at Tinian Jr. Sr. High School.

PSS said they “did not find evidence to support a finding that [San Nicolas] had inappropriate relationships with students” of the high school. San Nicolas voluntarily resigned from his post as vice principal this month, according to PSS.

“PSS has stopped its inquiry and process. PSS takes all allegations of misconduct by its employees seriously and will continue to put the welfare of its students first,” it said in a statement. PSS would not comment further.

San Nicolas was sent on administrative leave with pay on Sept. 29. A hearing officer was named for the case, but no public hearing was reportedly announced.
