A total of 26 teams will play in the 2015 Saipan Little League Baseball , which is set to open with one Big League game on Jan. 15 at the Francisco M. “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.

The Little League attracted the most number of teams with 13, while the Juniors and Big League divisions will have four squads each. Five teams will be contending for the Senior League crown.

Meanwhile, the Saipan Little League Baseball Inc. board will schedule another meeting later this month or early next year and invite Little League District Administrator Michael Borja to update him on their preparation for the 2015 season.

The SLLBI board will start the competition early to give All-Star teams a longer time to practice and prepare for the CNMI District and Asia-Pacific-Middle East regional tournaments.

This year’s SLLBI board is headed by president Benjamin Jones Jr., secretary and player agent Piding Tenorio treasurer Malcolm Omar, safety officer Climaco Laniyo, and chief statistician AJ Murig. (Jon Perez)
