COTA to solicit comments on its facility site proposal
The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority and the Commonwealth Public Transportation Advisory Board will be hosting a public meeting to discuss a plan to put up a bus and vehicle maintenance and repair and storage building and facility along Middle Road, in Puerto Rico, Saipan.
The meeting will be held on Dec. 30, 2014, at the Garapan Elementary School cafeteria, from 6pm to 7:30pm.
“It is a meeting to gather public input and all stakeholders and interested parties are cordially invited to participate,” said COTA special assistant for public transportation Thomas J. Camacho.
“It is essential to ensure that the location and process of developing plans for the new facilities do not discriminate against people based on race, color or national origin,” he said.
It is also a requirement by the U.S Federal Transit Administration and COTA’s public involvement policy to obtain the public’s input.
“Strengthening our commitment to the communities that we serve is the best gift we can give the CNMI,” he said.
