Public Auditor Michael Pai was sworn in for another six-year term at the helm of the Office of Public Auditor yesterday morning at the Governor’s Office on Capital Hill.
Gov. Eloy S. Inos administered the oath of office to Pai, who passed the Senate and House of Representatives’ confirmation processes with flying colors last month.

“Mike has worked selflessly to ensure that the performance of government programs and services meet the standard of reasonable assurance that they comply with the intent of laws, regulations, and policies. I am confident that Mike will revisit the issue of resolving current and outstanding single audit findings, that he will ensure transparency and accountability in government services, and perform his duties to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in our government system,” said Inos after Pai’s oath-taking.

In an earlier interview with Saipan Tribune, Pai said he appreciates the governor’s confidence in him and thanks the House and the Senate for their support in giving him another term.
“Serving as the CNMI public auditor is the biggest honor and highlight of my career and I want to thank the governor, the Legislature, and the community of the CNMI for their confidence and support,” he said.

The governor reappointed Pai as public auditor last Oct. 6. Pai succeeded Michael Sablan to the position.
