Office of Transition appoints subcommittee chairs for review period

The Office of Transition has asked CNMI agencies and departments to provide their mandate, budget and personnel, policy and regulations information, as well as their future plans and recommendations to the office by this week, according to chair Gregorio M. Camacho in a letter sent out on Dec. 11.

The office has appointed its transition committee chairperson to lead their teams during this review period this week. According to the letter. Camacho requested for the information “as soon as possible” and no later than Dec. 16.

He asked for the cooperation from all departments, activity heads, boards, and commissions as they complete their transition report.

Oscar M. Babauta has been named transition committee chairperson for offices under the Office of Governor and Lt. Governor, while Catalina Tebit has been named for the Carolinian Affairs Office.

Donald Barcinas has been named for the Medical Referral office; Frank Rabauliman for the Medicaid Office; Shelane Borja for the Youth Affairs Office; Stanley Torres for the Board of Parole; and Vicente Camacho for the Public Defender’s Office.

Gregorio M. Sablan has been named chairperson for transition team reviewing the Veterans Affairs Office; Ray Masga was named for the Zoning Office; Richard Seman for the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality; Geralyn Dela Cruz for the Criminal Justice Planning Agency; Susana Deleon Guerrero for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation; and Oscar M. Babauta again for Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

William S. Torres leads the transition team for the Department of Commerce; Oscar C. Rasa for the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs; Chris D. Leon Guerrero for the Department of Corrections; Ramon S. Basa for the Department of Finance; and Jose Mafnas for the Department of Labor.

Ross Manglona has been named transition chairperson for the Department of Lands and Natural Resources; Judy DLG Torres-Aldan for the Department of Public Lands; and Jose A. Reyes as chair, and Danny Buniag as vice chair for the Department of Public Works.

Transition leader for the Department of Public Safety is Clyde Norita; transition leaders for the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority are chair Alice Igitol and vice chair Juan I. Tenorio; for the Joeten Kiyu Library it is chair MaryAnn B. Arriola and vice chair Joseph Diaz. The latter two will also lead review for the CNMI Museum.

Glenna SP Reyes will lead review for the Commonwealth Development Authority; chair Pete P. Reyes and vice chair Antonio Agulto for the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation; chair Juan S. Reyes and vice chair James A. Ada for the Commonwealth Ports Authority; and Velma Palacios for the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.

Chair Frank Aguon and vice chair Geri Willis will lead review teams for the Northern Marianas College; Rex I. Palacios for Marianas Public Lands Trust; Patricia S. Rasa for the Marianas Visitors Authority; Martin Ada for the Northern Marianas Housing Corp.; and chair Barbara T. Sablan and vice chair Esther Sound for the Civil Service Commission and Office of Personnel Management.
