Ninety members of the Korean Air Force arrived Wednesday afternoon for a two-night stay on island. According to the Korean Association of Saipan, they will be holding a ceremony at the Korean monument in Marpi at 8:30am this morning.

On Wednesday, they were greeted by association president Kim Hong Kyun and other Korean Association officials as the nearly 100 women and men decked out in full-uniform streamed out of the Saipan International Airport departure gate and on to a waiting bus.

Association members presented ranking officials with leis to give them a taste of island life. A welcoming party at Fiesta Resort and Spa followed at 6:30pm.

In other association news, a business forum will be hosted this Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Saipan World Resort’s Lilac Room starting at 3pm. About 50 to 60 businessmen and women from the community are expected to join but other members of the Korean community are invited as well.
