Bank of Hawaii awards $25K grants to Saipan recipients

Bank of Hawaii named Cha, Fruitful, Inc. dba Island Infusions, Keynotes School of Music, OceanSoul Unlimited and Pink Mango as recipients of the I Kinometi Para I Kumunidåt I Islå-ta Small Business Revitalization and Development Grants. Each awardee received $5,000.

This marks the third year that Bank of Hawaii has offered this program. The small businesses selected help in some way to foster economic growth by adding new product lines, creating new jobs or offering economic diversity.

– Cha, a restaurant that offers pearl or snow drinks and tea, will purchase a point-of-sale cashier system and plans to add part-time jobs for students who seek on-the-job work experience.

– Fruitful, Inc. dba Island Infusions, a manufacturer and retail establishment that specializes in tropically-infused liqueurs, will purchase a 30-gallon still to create new products that feature local tropical fruit.

– Keynotes School of Music, a music school, will purchase music instruments to provide music education as an afterschool activity.

– OceanSoul Unlimited, an adventure company that offers paddle sports, sailing and canoe tours, will purchase paddleboards and paddles to help promote fitness, fun and education to kids.

– Pink Mango, a retail establishment that sells clothing and accessories, will expand on its plus sizes and provide a variety of styles at affordable prices.

Bank of Hawaii is committed to fostering economic development and to help new businesses grow. In addition to this grant program, Bank of Hawaii continues to support the Saipan community through grants made by Bank of Hawaii Foundation and through the work of its employees who provide financial education and serve on the boards of local non-profits.
