CBC will face three-time defending titlist SBC on Friday and Saturday and will challenge Shirley’s in the first day of their matchup on Sunday. Shirley’s, on the other hand, will take on Golden Racquets before ending its campaign against CBC the following week. Taga drew a bye and will face SBC next week.
CBC and Shirley’s are currently at second and third places with 37 and 36 points, respectively, in the five-team field behind the three-time defending titlist SBC’s 45 markers.
CBC scored a 21-9 win over Taga in its first game then clinched 16 of the 30 points up for grabs against Golden Racquets last weekend.
Shirley’s, meanwhile, opened with a 13-17 decision against the four-peat seeking SBC and then pummeled Taga, 23-7, for its 36-point tally. Taga, which was in second place during the opening week, dropped to a tie for fourth and fifth with Golden Racquets with 31 points each.
Three points are awarded to a team that wins a match in two games, while 2 points are given to the winning squad and one to its opponent if the match goes to three.
Matches on Friday will be in the men’s B, BC, A, and women’s B and A divisions, while on Saturday it will be the turn of men’s AB, C, and mixed BC, B and AB players.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, matches will be in the men’s BC, AB and B, and mixed AB and C. (Jon Perez)
