Salvation Army solicits toys for drive

The NMI Salvation Army is asking if it is in the community’s hearts to donate two unwrapped toys—one for younger kids and the other for older ones—for their holiday toy drive. The range for these toys should be for children from ages 0 to 18, according to ministry leader Wade Gillespie, who announced the drive at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s general membership meeting yesterday.

“We’re asking it if it is in your heart to donate a couple of toys,” he told the crowd.

Drop-off points as of now are at both Bank of Hawaii branches, Gillespie said. They will have boxes out at Christmas trees placed out front for these toys, he added.

He said another corporate sponsor would be announced soon.
