UFO readies for election this Saturday
The United Filipino Organization will be electing new officers this Saturday at the Don Pedro Restaurant across the Mobil gas station on Middle Road in Garapan. The meeting will start at 7pm.
UFO president Annamae Adaza said they are calling all Filipino organizations on the island to join the election and for each organization to send at least five representatives as voting delegates to elect the new UFO officers.
“We will be electing a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, auditor, and press relation officer, including assistants and chairpersons for committees by appointment,” Adaza said yesterday.
About 12 active Filipino organizations fall under the umbrella of the UFO.
Adaza will step down as president of UFO in a few days and she hopes whoever will be the next president would sustain the organization’s existing programs and come up with new ones as well.
Adaza said that being UFO’s president in the past year has been a very challenging job.
“During my time it was very challenging because that is when we started assisting the Philippine Consulate General. It was both challenging and tiring but also a rewarding experience,” Adaza said, who wished luck to the organization’s next officers.
