‘Proper time to meet Inos-Torres will come’
Independent gubernatorial contender Heinz S. Hofschneider has yet to accept several personal invitations and news reports urging a meeting with Gov. Eloy Inos and lieutenant governor-elect Ralph Torres out of respect for Hofschneider-Yumul supporters, the Thanksgiving holiday, and the absentee voters and the fact that very important issues remain open pending resolution.
“Ray and I spoke to lieutenant governor-elect Ralph Torres on election night so this isn’t an act of disrespect to the incumbents, but an act of consideration for our supporters, some of whom have yet to have their ballots counted,” Hofschneider said. “I have spent the last few days meeting with those who have supported me and Ray throughout our campaign to thank them for their support and assure them that we remain committed to achieving the changes we sought in the election.”
“Our supporters are feeling a tremendous loss,” Hofschneider added. “I’ve been meeting with many of them on a personal basis to comfort them, to offer my and Ray’s help in any way that we can. The Thanksgiving holiday also offers time for reflection on our many blessings and is time to connect to our family and our supporters—many of whom have become family over the course of the elections.”
“It is the time of the season to give thanks. That’s what we’ve been doing,” Yumul said.
