OVR counselors conduct outreach in Susupe
Office of Vocational Rehabilitation counselors will be conducting outreach at the House of Man Hoben located behind the cemetery next to Susupe Chapel tomorrow, Nov. 29, 2014, from 9am to 11:30am.
Individuals interested in applying for vocational rehabilitation services are encouraged to take advantage of this outreach activity. Normally, orientation and intake/application are conducted at the OVR office on Navy Hill on Tuesdays at 9am. However, in an effort to increase its referral numbers, OVR is also reaching out to unserved or underserved populations.
An applicant is eligible for vocational rehabilitation services if the individual: 1) is an individual with a disability, and; 2) has a physical or mental impairment that constitutes or results in a substantial impediment to employment; and can benefit in terms of an employment outcome from vocational rehabilitation services, and; 3) requires vocational rehabilitation services to prepare for, secure, or retain employment; and 4) has legal status to allow employment in the CNMI or U.S.
OVR extends its appreciation to Ayuda Network for coordinating and making the outreach possible.
The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority provides transportation service for a fee of $5/ride for the general public (riders without disabilities), or $3/ride for approved riders with disabilities and the elderly age 55 and over. Schedule your ride at least one day in advance by calling COTA at 664-2690. You can call this reservation line from Monday to Friday, 8am – 8pm, and Saturdays, 8am – 4 pm.
