With this good news, the SLLBI board can move forward for its preparation for the next season set for Jan. 15. The board has set another meeting this Saturday at McDonald’s Middle Road in Chalan LauLau at 9am to finalize the local ground rules.
Then another general membership meeting is scheduled on Dec. 3 at 5:30pm at the pavilion beside the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium to settle other matters concerning the league.
The SLLBI board has also set Dec. 6 player registration day with the league officials to assist managers and coaches in registering their players. They will receive copies of team rosters and other necessary documents from 9am to 12pm at the Ada Gym pavilion.
Next year’s competition will start early as the SLLBI board wants to make sure the season will end as scheduled to give the All-Star teams in the four divisions—Majors, Junior, Senior and Big leagues— enough time to train for the CNMI district and Asia-Pacific-Middle East regional tournaments.
This year’s SLLB board is headed by president Benjamin Jones Sr. Others on the board are Annie Deleon Guerrero Flores (vice president), Piding Tenorio (secretary and player agent), Malcolm Omar (treasurer), Climaco Laniyo (safety officer), and A.J. Murig (chief statistician).
For more information, call Tenorio at 285-1024 or Murig a 989-0640. (JVP)
