TakeCare Foundation will present grants to Guma’ Esperansa and Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at 3pm at the FHP Health Center on Saipan.

“Our foundation will be donating $3,000 to Guma’ Esperansa to assist with their outreach initiatives to provide care and services to victims of violence and their children, and $5,000 to the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence to help fund their one-day community event [that] will focus on raising awareness about sexual assault prevention and intervention” said Sylvia Duenas, TakeCare Foundation adviser.

Guma’ Esperansa, a program of Karidat Social Services, is a shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and human trafficking in the CNMI. The non-profit organization works daily to provide care and services to victims of violence and their children who have fled their homes to seek safe shelter.

Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, nourish and sustain a collective movement to end violence in the CNMI.

The TakeCare Foundation is composed of employees of TakeCare Insurance and the FHP Health Center who are devoted to charitable and educational causes that enhance the health, wellness and welfare of individuals, families and the public at large. It is unique because it is employee-driven. TakeCare and FHP employees play a major role in assisting with the contributions and the selection process of the grant recipients. (PR)
