Statement from Gov. Eloy S. Inos and Lt. Gov-elect Ralph DLG Torres
Incumbent Governor Eloy Inos and Lt. Governor-elect Ralph DLG Torres were overwhelmingly elected for a full four-year term after a contentious runoff election in the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands by 1599 votes with around 1900 potential absentee votes yet to be counted.
Governor Inos stated the following “Ralph and I are so humbled by the outpouring of support by the citizens of the CNMI. Our administration is committed to working for all the people of the CNMI as we identify and implement solutions to the challenges facing our beautiful islands. We thank our supporters so much for their steadfast commitment to our campaign.”
“Ralph and I extend our hand to our opponents and say thank you. You ran a great campaign and we welcome you and your supporters to join with us as we work towards keeping our Commonwealth moving in the right direction.” Inos stated.
Lt. Governor-elect Torres continued “From the bottom of our hearts, Governor and I are so thankful for thousands of people that voted this election. We pledge to work with all the people of the CNMI as there are many challenges our Commonwealth needs to address and we know that we can’t do it alone.” (PR)
