In commemoration of the first anniversary of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, Dr. Celia B. Lamkin, chairperson of US Pinoys for Good Governance Marianas chapter, turned over a check donation of $300 to Rev. Father Rey Rosal, whose family members are victims of the killer typhoon. The donation was made last Saturday at the San Jose Church on Saipan.

“On behalf of the US Pinoys for Good Governance Marianas chapter members, volunteers and supporters, I am honored to present our humble donation to your family members who were affected by the Typhoon Yolanda last year and who are still recovering from this killer typhoon,” Lamkin told Rosal.

In his response, Rosal, the parish priest of San Jose Church, said: “On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the US Pinoys for Good Governance Marianas chapter and all who in one way or another have helped the victims and survivors of Typhoon Yolanda through their monetary and in kind donations. As the Gospel tells us, ‘Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it unto me, says the Lord Jesus. Continue to share, that others may live.’ God bless you all.”

Lamkin said that their organization has identified “some more kababayans [compatriots] on Saipan who were devastated by Typhoon Yolanda who are still in need of help during this period of recovery. And we will have future projects to be able to assist them in our own little ways. I would like to thank all the USP4GG Marianas chapter members, volunteers and supporters who made this noble act possible.”

US Pinoys for Good Governance has a mission to provide better lives for Filipinos everywhere and a better Philippines. It is led by its national chairperson, Loida Nicolas Lewis, president Rodel Rodis, and spokesman Ted Laguatan. Its headquarters is based in New York City. (PR)
