H/Y camp: We’re saddened by IT misinformation campaign as well

Hofschneider-Yumul campaign chair David Attao says that Heinz and Ray love everybody and that there is no room for negativity in their campaign.

“Since we started, our camp has always focused on the issues,” Attao said, responding to chairman of the Committee to Elect Inos-Torres Greg Camacho’s “sadness” over H/Y camp’s supposed negative attacks. “We don’t have any time to focus on personal attacks. We are working very hard to earn the people’s votes and continued trust in our candidates. We invite our opponents to follow our lead.”

Campaign spokesman John P. Del Rosario said, “I, too, have been saddened by the personal attacks launched against our candidates for months now on social media and throughout the community.”

“I, too, am saddened,” said Del Rosario, “over the current state of government affairs and the way people are living on the islands. We’re sad because the cost of living is high. We’re sad that the power bills are high. We’re sad that crime is high. We’re sad that some of the Commonwealth’s politicians are in the service of foreign investors attempting to steer the election to IT for their own reasons and these are things to be genuinely sad about.”

The Hofschneider-Yumul campaign is waging a grassroots campaign on a shoestring budget against opponents that it says have millions of dollars at their disposal, “thanks to their association with casino interests.”

“We will continue to work for the greater community and not the interests of the select few,” Attao said. “Please vote right. Please vote Heinz and Ray: the right choice.”
