Democratic Party chair’s challenge for runoff

Share

In the Nov. 10, 2014, issue of Saipan Tribune, it stated that the Democratic Party endorsed the Republican Party gubernatorial candidates for the runoff election this coming Nov. 21, 2014. As the chairman of the Democratic Party, I stand firm that the Central Executive Committee has not met to officially endorse any party or candidates.

Our Commonwealth has a lot of challenges attributed to global and local issues but most importantly from the poor management by our leaders. This is the crucial time that we need to make a decision of which we, the stakeholders of our Commonwealth, will decide who to lead us.

Thank you for the paybacks of the CNMI Employees Credit Union, the refund of the 25 percent pension of the retirees and its 100 percent reinstatement, refund of existing employees that have opted out from the Retirement Program, and the CUC $635-plus credit. This CUC $635-plus credit does not solve CUC but solved the election. Why now? Wake up, Marianas, and ask yourselves the question whether or not this is what you call election benefits. Again, the people have spoken twice not to have casino on Saipan but it went through deaf ears.

As the chairman of the Democratic Party, I have fought issues facing our Commonwealth and I took all of our issues and concerns to heart in deep consideration. Therefore, my people of our Commonwealth, we need to have strong honest leaders that will untangle our Commonwealth from its mess due to our poor economy and leadership.

I remain humble and thank you for your vote of confidence and the change have to start with you this coming runoff election 2014.

May God bless us and our Commonwealth, especially to our veterans

Rosiky Flores Camacho
Chairman, CNMI Democratic Party
