IT&E Voyagers, Shark Attack ahead in 8-ball league

Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s’ IT&E Voyagers and Shark Attack, of Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill are on top of the leaderboard in the Saipan Billiards Association 2011 Budweiser 8-Ball League after last Tuesday’s games.

IT&E Voyagers moved up from second to first place in the Agingan division after shutting out X-Tream in a road match at VFW Post 3457, 7-0. The Voyages now hold a 16-5 record for a one-game lead over Utopia Sports Bar’s Docomo Hustlers.

Notably, fourth-ranked Jonny’s Home Boyz Five (10-11) upset the Hustlers in a home game, 4-3, while Sand’s Bar’s IT&E Incredibles (13-8) defeated Fotten Palau (5-16) on the road at Joe’s Bar, 5-2.

On Tuesday, IT&E Voyagers host the Docomo Hustlers, X-Tream welcomes Fotten Palau, and IT&E Incredibles duels Home Boyz Five.

Shark Attack remains atop the Obyan leaderboard with its 14-7 late, but was ambushed at home by now second-ranked Team Pirata of D’Pirates Bar & Grill, 3-4. Team Pirata now sits just a game behind its rival in the standings.

In other results, the last place 19th Hole Titans (7-14) upset third-ranked Jonny’s Team SCS (11-10), 4-3, and Jonny’s Crazy 8 (10-11) defeated 19th Hole Poksu (8-13) in a home match, 5-2.

Action in the Obyan division continues on Tuesday, as Team SCS hosts Poksu, the Titans meets Shark Attack, and Team Pirata collides against Crazy 8.
