Foremost donates 300 cases of non-fat milk to Karidat
In its continuing campaign to promote good nutrition and healthy living, Foremost Foods Saipan made a 300-case donation of Foremost Non-fat Milk to Karidat, a Northern Mariana Islands social service provider, on Sept. 9.
In a statement, Angie V. Leon Guerrero, executive director, Karidat, said, “On behalf of the clients that we serve, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Foremost Foods Saipan for their thoughtfulness and generosity in donating 300 cases of Foremost Non-fat Milk.”
Bulk of the 7,200 quarts of Foremost Non-fat Milk went to Guma’ Esperansa, the Karidat shelter for women, according to Guerrero. Some of the milk was given to onlookers who asked for it when the delivery was made.
“When passersby saw the Foremost truck in front of Karidat, they stopped by to ask for milk, for themselves and for other family members,” Leon Guerrero said. Leon Guerrero noted the significance of the donation, “Foremost Foods’ generosity showed that it cares for the community. In times of economic hardship, such as what we are experiencing, any donation helps to alleviate the economic difficulties of the people.”
Glen D. Hunter, group business manager, Foremost Foods Saipan, said the company would like to do its share in advancing good nutrition across all sectors of the community through the healthful food and beverage segment of Foremost.
“Foremost recognizes the need to increase awareness of healthy eating habits in all parts of our island community. We are gratified that more and more people are switching to healthy food choices such as non-fat milk or reduced fat milk. We are committed to fulfill our mission to make Foremost a part of your life; certainly, a part of everyone’s improved nutrition,” Hunter said.
