The CNMI Department of Commerce’s Central Statistics Division is releasing the Consumer Price Index and the Economic Indicators Reports for the third and fourth quarter of 2013.

The statistical information reflected in the CPI publication contains information that measure quarterly changes in prices of goods and services, which represents purchases by households in the CNMI.

The Economic Indicators depicts the social and economic conditions of the CNMI from data collected and tabulated by the CSD, with contributions from other CNMI departments and agencies, as well as inputs from private organizations.

These quarterly reports are essential information for the public, the business community and policy makers for reference in making sound decisions.

“Despite predominant urgencies, shortage of staff and resources, CSD continues to strive to meet its benchmarks as set forth in the Statistical Act in publishing mandated quarterly reports,” stated acting Commerce secretary Francisco D. Cabrera and acting CSD director Alfonis Sound. “Not an easy task especially when other demands exist from other funded projects but the crew manage as much as they can.”

Report will be available for public consumption today, Oct. 31, 2014, at the following link: http://commerce.gov.mp/divisions/central-statistics/. (Office of the Governor)
