“I felt comfortable the way it was ran. I’m appreciative of what the volunteers do and appreciative of the community for the support they provide also to the community,” White told Saipan Tribune.

Dave B. Guerrero, 2011 MMAC overall committee chair, said raising over $110,000 and surpassing last year’s revenue mark was “awesome.”

“What’s astounding is that we were able to raise this amount in a challenging economic environment. For me, this shows that our community has a big heart and is willing to support the fight against cancer,” he said.

Guerrero and White thanked the committee members, sponsors, and volunteers who have made this year’s event a “resounding success.”

White added that the money raised will be used to support their projects such as providing financial assistance to cancer patients as well as offering support to both patients and survivors in the form of wheelchairs, wigs, walkers, and hospital beds.

“We do everything we can to support people undergoing treatment, we do everything we can to support survivors, we do everything we can to support the community,” he said.
