Pacifica Insurance launches holiday-themed art contest
Pacifica Insurance Underwriters Inc. would like to spread the holiday cheer throughout CNMI by holding an art contest called the Pacifica Art Contest.
The purpose of the contest is to promote the arts by holding an event that not only welcomes the holiday season but one that also rewards participants for their hard work. The contest will give children ages 6 through 17 an opportunity to share and display their artistic skills and talents.
Contestants must create an original art piece that is centered on the contest’s slogan: “Rest assured it’s Christmas.” Dimensions must not exceed 18”x 24”. Acceptable media (or materials) include water-based paint, oil-based paint, pastels, and crayons. Pieces may also be hand-drawn.
The deadline to submit entries to Pacifica Insurance’s office in Susupe is on Nov. 4, 2014, at 3pm. Submissions must be in their original state and must include the artist’s full name, age, school name, telephone number, and mailing and email address.
Artwork will be judged on four criteria: creativity and originality, quality of art piece, clarity of theme, and presentation. The panel of judges includes Northern Marianas College external relations officer Frankie Eliptico, Sweet Escape executive chef Raymond “Seiji” Sonoda, and AllStar Sporting Goods manager Soledad Tenorio.
The winner of the contest will be announced on Nov. 10, 2014, and will be entitled to $200 cash and other prizes.
