Winners of the Marianas Visitors Authority’s latest promotional campaign in Taiwan found “Love in Tinian” this month, documented by three accompanying media outlets.
Six winners arrived on Oct. 2, 2014, at Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, the major prize sponsor of the campaign contest designed to promote Tinian as a romantic vacation destination.
The winners were accompanied by media outlets Taiwan TV (TTV), Sanlih iWalker magazine, and ETtoday, who conducted a simultaneous FAM(iliarization) tour of the island. The media made stops at Chulu Beach, House of Taga, the Tinian Blowhole, World War II heritage sites, and the MVA office. Filming was also conducted at the casino. Additional filming on Saipan was cancelled due to Typhoon Vongfong.
“According to our marketing/language specialist who accompanied the group, the typhoon blew off some of the fun, but it didn’t blow away their love for Tinian and Saipan,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
TTV was scheduled to release four major stories on Tinian, highlighting history, culture, nature, leisure activities and entertainment. The station reaches over 240,000 viewers with its evening news and over 480,000 viewers with its one-hour International Hot Topic program, where Tinian will be promoted.
Sanlih iWalker magazine will feature Tinian on four pages of its December 2014 edition, circulating 100,000 copies.
ETtoday online media focuses on hot travel news and will publish several articles. (MVA)
