Ayuda Network to assess need for respite care in NMI
We are pleased to announce the availability of respite care services program made possible through the annual budget appropriation provided for under Section 8 of Public Law 14-36 for the Commonwealth Respite Services Program, currently being administered by the Ayuda Network, Inc., a community-based organization.
Ayuda Network shall be responsible for regulating, managing and supervising the delivery of respite care services to the community in accordance with all the requirements of Public Law 14-36 and in NMIAC 75-60.1, Commonwealth Respite Service Program Administrative Rules and Regulations.
Purpose
The Commonwealth Respite Service Program will provide respite services to eligible recipients or primary caregivers of target dependents. Primary caregiver is an individual who provides a client with continuous at-home care at no cost. Target dependents are children with developmental disabilities residing at home, or adults with developmental disabilities who reside with aging parents, children, and older individuals who are medically fragile, have developmental disabilities, dementia, and other conditions and who reside at home of primary caregiver such as adult children, grandchildren, or other care-giving relative.
Therefore, to establish and develop a system for the program, Ayuda Network is currently conducting a needs assessment survey and is inviting all interested families and individuals who are in need of respite services to register with Ayuda and submit a survey questionnaire. Service providers, day care centers, and business community interested in providing respite service care are also urged to call Ayuda. The survey questionnaires are available at the Ayuda Network office to determine the need for respite service in the Commonwealth.
