Parks and Recreation staff arrested for allegedly stabbing wife with metal pipe

An employee of the Division of Parks and Recreation was arrested on Monday after he allegedly stabbed his wife with a metal pipe inside their pickup truck at their residence in As Lito.
The couple’s three children, who were looking out the kitchen window, reportedly saw the assault and were so scared as they have seen their father beating their mother several times in the past.
Medics treated the victim at the scene. She refused to be transported to the Commonwealth Health Center, but medics advised her to get an X-ray because she might have sustained a fracture on her left ribs. She sustained abrasion and bruises on the left rib area.
Patricio I. Kapileo, 51, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace
At yesterday’s hearing, Superior Court associate David Wiseman imposed a $500 cash and $4,500 unsecured bond for the temporary release of Kapileo.
Preliminary hearing will be on Sept. 22 at 9am.
Assistant attorney general Russell Lorfing appeared for the government. Assistant public defender Douglas Hartig was appointed to represent the defendant.
Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that on Monday afternoon a friend dropped Kapileo at his residence.
After a few minutes, Kapileo’s wife and her 1-year-old grandson arrived home in their pick-up truck.
Kapileo shouted at his wife to get out of the truck and give him the car keys.
When she prepared to get out of the truck, the defendant picked up a metal pipe from the ground and allegedly forcefully stabbed her with it on the left rib area.
The wife walked toward Happy Market, crying. One of the children followed her as they then reported the incident to the police.
Kapileo got into the truck and drove away. While police officers were interviewing the victim at Happy Market, the defendant came and tried to walk over to his wife. A police officer stopped him and handcuffed him.
Detective Aldan said according to the wife Kapileo is violent and abusive to her and their three children throughout their marriage.
One of the children told police that they’re scared to stop their father because he hit them when they tried to stop him from beating their mother in the past.
