High surf seen until Tuesday

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 6pm Tuesday along north and west facing reefs. Gentle winds and combined seas of 6 to 8 feet are expected through Wednesday.

Hazardous surf of 9 to 11 feet will fall to 8 to 10 feet today and to 7 to 9 feet on Tuesday. Surf should fall below hazardous levels tomorrow night.

Along north facing reefs, hazardous surf of 8 to 10 feet will fall to 7 to 9 feet today and tonight and should fall below hazardous levels tomorrow, Tuesday.

The public is advised to continue exercising precautionary measures when entering the water. Those operating smaller vessels should avoid boating in these conditions. If travel by boat is necessary, exercise caution especially near reef lines and when entering or leaving harbors and inlets. (HSEM)
